 Artistic Process 

Leigh uses acrylics and mixed media on birch wood panels and the originals are topped with liquid glass for preservation. Originals are available only in the dimensions and formats in which they were produced and prints are available in a number of sizes. Leigh’s process is described in her own words as “intense and an experience in healing”. Each piece provides Leigh with a sense of peace that is needed to soothe the pain that comes with the question “Why?” Her mixed media art includes birch, paper, acrylic and oil paint, inks, various mediums, charcoal and a long list of tools. Each piece is infused with sacred sage and prayers for peace, equality, and healing. 

The Ancestor Series

    The Ancestor Series now features six paintings and remains open to expansion, with more works joining the collection as it develops over time.

    This series focuses on Indigenous resilience and cultural memory. Each work connects to history while staying rooted in the present.
